- We have a terrific trip using Boscov’s Travel Agency. It includes a direct flight from Avoca to Orlando so we can avoid layover’s. The flight departs early in the morning and we are at the hotel by 9:30am. On the last day of the trip we return late at night. This has the effect of giving us two additional days in the park versus what we normally do.
- We use the Disney meal plan and it works well for us. The plan comes with a dinner, a counter meal and a snack for each person for each night of your stay. The meals include a dessert and drink and the dinners also include an appetizer. This is definitely worth the money if you plan right, especially by making reservations at some of the better restaurants. The only downside was that it tends to encourage you to eat more than you would normally eat, though we also found that between meal snacking was much less than normal. Overall, I’d do it again.
We leave at 4am Sunday morning in a terrible snow storm. It takes a about an hour to de-ice the plane. When we finally take off, everyone on the plane erupts into cheers and applause. At first I thought this was just because we are backwards folk from Pennsyltucky, but it later is clear that we are all just really excited because everyone on the place is going to the happiest place on earth
We go the Spirit of Aloha show at the Polynesian Resort. The food is okay and the show is just okay. The best part is the guy who twirls fire. Ty goes up on stage with a number of kids for part of the show, but it doesn’t amount to much. Overall, this isn’t something I’d recommend.
We see the Osborne Family light show at Disney Studios – OUTSTANDING! There are millions of lights and the choreography of the lights to the music is awesome.
- We go to the procession of lights, a wonderful telling of the the story of Christ at Epcot including a full orchestra and choir. It is so inspiring that we buy the CD. Somewhere along the line we misplaced the CD and it didn’t make it home with us.
