Month of Trip: May
Where we stayed: Boardwalk
Where we ate: The Wave, Trattoria al Forno, Cape May Cafe
We enjoyed a very relaxing trip that might be a model for our get-away trips in the future.
We did very few attractions and just spent the time relaxing by the pool and walking around the parks trying different foods, drinks and snacks. We even got Nana to try some of the alcoholic beverages.
It was very hot – in the 95 degree range with a heat index of 105 degrees. The first two days were bearable, but the last day was very humid and unbearable. It drained us of energy and we ended up back at the hotel to nap.
We also spent some time checking out things to do with Maiya when we take her to Disney World in 2022. We found a splash pad and playground at Epcot.
We also found a second playground at Epcot that was really nice, but it turns out it was just temporary for the Flower and Garden Festival.
We then checked out the Wilderness Lodge as a place to stay with Maiya. We’ve stayed there previously, but wanted to look at it with Maiya in mind. It has a very nice area for children at the pool and I think it will work out great.
We had lunch at Wilderness Lodge and it was a terrific time. Very relaxing in the open air restaurant overlooking Bay Lake.
Our meal at The Wave at the Contemporary Resort was awesome. It might have been the best salmon I’ve ever had.
I was also impressed with the Star Wars fireworks show. It was awesome and surprisingly emotional.
