2017 DisneyWorld Trip

Who went:

  • Mark, Jeanne, Ty
  • Matt, Stacy, Xander, Lena

Month of Trip: December
Where we stayed:  Boardwalk
Where we ate: Big River Grille, Crystal Palace, France, Tusker House and Cape May Cafe

We enjoyed staying at the Boardwalk for the first time.  The rooms were large and it had a nice pool area.  The proximity to EPCOT and Disney Studios was really appreciated.  However, it isn’t my favorite resort.

Avatar land had recently opened at Animal Kingdom.  It is gorgeous including the floating mountains just like in the movie.  However, the lines for the two new rides were very long with three-hour waits.  The Navi River ride was stupid and a waste of time.  Flight of Passage was awesome and might be my new favorite ride at DisneyWorld.  We got to the park prior to opening on two days to get in line.  It was funny to watch grown men running to try to get in line.  We ended up with just a 30-minute wait on one day and a 90-minute wait on the second experience.  The ride itself is outrageously fun – I laughed and screamed the entire time.

We were very pleased with the food at Tusker House and Crystal Palace.  Food at Big River Grille was only fair.

We didn’t have any major incidents or stories from this trip.  This was the first trip since Mark, Jeanne and Matt lost significant weight, and it was fun just getting more steps in.  By the end of the trip I had clocked 58.2 miles of walking.
